Plant-based products – do they (not) help? We’re busting the myths!

Today, there is a lot of talk on the Internet about the choice of plant-based products, especially the issue of sustainability and health. The latter causes a lot of debate – can plants be effective in combating various ailments, or are natural products just a hoax? When creating cannuLAB products, we had to conduct a lot of research, so we want to share our knowledge with you!

Myth No. 1 – all cannabis products have a psychotropic effect

Our society needs to be educated, because some people still associate all cannabis products with drugs. In other words, they believe that even cannabis snacks or oils are intoxicating, induce hallucinations, etc. This is a misconception. First of all, we should distinguish between types of cannabis. They are divided into:

·   narcotic, from which marijuana is obtained (cannabis). Their THC (psychotropic cannabinoid) concentration exceeds 0.2%. In some countries (including Lithuania), the possession of such cannabis products is prohibited.

·   fibrous / industrial (hemp, cannabis sativa). They contain less than 0.2% THC. There is NO THC at all in cannuLAB products.

Myth no. 2 – herbal products are ineffective

If someone told our mothers or grandmothers that thyme tea or a few teaspoons of honey wouldn’t help with any cough… We would probably be surprised or even outraged. Indeed, the beneficial properties of plants have been proven for a long time, but it should be noted that their effects are definitely not comparable to the effects of chemical drugs or dietary supplements.

cannuLAB products are rich in active ingredients of plant origin. They have been carefully selected, researched and scientifically confirmed, so we can safely call gummies or hemp oil a joint creation of nature and science. Tip – read labels, monitor the amount of active ingredients in the product and think critically.

Myth No. 3 – One product can do wonders

As much as we might wish that one magic pill or elixir would eliminate all our problems, unfortunately, such a thing does not exist. Especially when the product’s action is ensured by a single active ingredient… Each of our bodies is different, affected by various processes and factors, so the help for it must be diverse.

There is no magic in the composition of cannuLAB products – they contain various, complex ingredients of natural origin that affect the problem, contributing to good well-being, mood and quality rest. However, we must take care of ourselves in a variety of ways, i.e. not only using, for example, sleep-improving products, but also allowing ourselves to rest, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, taking vitamins or food supplements prescribed by a doctor, etc. In other words, if you drink 4 cans of energy drink a day and then eat a gummy to improve your sleep, the effect will probably not be what you expect.

Myth No. 4 – all plant products are healthy

We cannot deny that a very large number of plants and their products have good properties. However, we should not blindly trust every herbal product or abuse it. After all, we all know that too much of anything is bad. This saying applies even to useful things. For example, lemons are good for our health, rich in vitamin C, but if we eat a kilogram of them, the effect will be harmful – we will irritate the stomach, there will be a chance of an allergic reaction, etc.

For the reason mentioned above, even healthy products should be consumed in moderation and responsibly. We constantly remind members of the cannuLAB community of this – in order to notice a positive effect, follow product labels and usage recommendations.

In addition, no matter how useful products with natural active ingredients may be, they are not medicines, therefore they are not intended to treat, prevent or diagnose diseases. So if you are experiencing severe, long-term anxiety, insomnia, or other health problems, be sure to consult with specialists.

1. Do all cannabis products have a psychotropic effect?

No, not all cannabis products are psychoactive. Cannabis is divided into narcotic types (with THC above 0.2%, which cause intoxication) and industrial hemp (with less than 0.2% THC). cannuLAB products contain no THC and do not cause psychotropic effects.

2. Are herbal and plant-based products effective for health?

Yes, many plant-based products have proven beneficial effects supported by scientific research. However, their effects are usually milder than chemical drugs or supplements, and it’s important to choose products with carefully selected, well-studied active ingredients.

3. Can one plant-based product solve all health problems?

No, there is no single “magic” product that cures all issues. Effective care usually requires a combination of healthy habits, such as a balanced lifestyle, proper rest, and sometimes supplements or medications prescribed by a doctor alongside natural products.

4. Are all plant-based products completely safe and healthy?

Not necessarily. Even healthy plant products should be used in moderation and responsibly. Excessive consumption of any product, even something as healthy as lemons, can cause adverse effects like stomach irritation or allergies.

5. Can plant-based products replace medications?

No, plant-based products are not medicines and are not intended to treat, prevent, or diagnose diseases. For serious or long-lasting health issues like anxiety or insomnia, it’s important to consult healthcare professionals.
